As we launch into summer, my desire to spend all the time I can get outdoors takes over. I love a good garden scape with shady areas for sitting, frolicking and enjoying the wonders of nature. My love for botanical gardens shines through my collections of butterfly (and moth) motifs, admittedly an obsession of mine since childhood that I thought I would grow out of. I’m glad that these special creatures inspire so much joy and whimsy in me.

Inspiring Artist: Javiera Estrada

I first stumbled on Estrada’s work on Saatchi Art and have been mesmerized since. The artist considers herself a psychological archeologist and her work is influenced by memories of growing up in lush Acapulco . Her inner digging and laborious techniques bring forth vibrant and thought provoking pieces. From photographs that celebrate and juxtapose the female form with nature to her electrifying floral prints, I am thoroughly smitten and putting her works on my wishlist.
